Join N2K plus Top Cybersecurity Investors, Analysts, and Industry Professionals at the Cyber Investing Summit May 23, 2017

Previously on this Blog we have discussed the importance of brainstorming and investing in solutions to solve the cyber challenges that plague our businesses and most other aspects of public life. Conferences like the upcoming Second Annual Cyber Investing Summit, which will feature leading influencers of the cybersecurity and investment communities, are crucial to exploring financial opportunities and strategies in the rapidly growing cybersecurity sector.
Held at the iconic New York Stock Exchange, the Cyber Investing Summit is an all-day conference focusing on investing in the cybersecurity industry. Separate tracks will be held during the day highlighting publicly traded firms and privately held entities. Below are some of the important topics that will be discussed at the Summit.

Cannot Predict Now

The New York Department of Financial Services recently introduced new cybersecurity guidelines for financial institutions effective March 1, 2017. The new regulation is designed to protect New York State from ever-growing cyber threats. Wells Fargo CISO Rich Baich and Barclays CSO Troels Oerting will examine the opportunities and challenges facing financial institutions as they work to implement these more stringent cyber security measures.

You May Rely On It

Cybercrime is here to stay and costs are estimated to grow to $6 trillion annually by 2021. FireEye Executive Chairman Dave DeWalt and VASCO Vice President of Corporate Communications John Gunn will share their perspectives regarding solutions and provider trends in the industry.

Without a Doubt

Investments in cybersecurity startups have  grown with venture capital firms investing in a record 279 companies in 2016. Seasoned cyber investors including Allegis Capital Founder Bob Ackerman, Blackstone CISO Jay Leek, Paladin Capital Group Founder Mike Steed, and First Round Capital Partner Howard Morgan will provide insight into the characteristics they look for when investing in cyber startups, as well as what they are projecting in 2017.
Other panel topics include investment strategies within the sector, ramifications from the Yahoo breach, the mergers and acquisitions landscape, and more. A full list of panel topics and speakers can be found here.
